About Us

Welcome

Lady Elizabeth Hastings is a Church of England (Voluntary Aided) Primary School. We are a small village school situated in the heart of Ledston Village catering for children aged 4-11. Our admission number is 20 children and we currently have 137 children on role in five mixed age classes.

  • Ledston Class Reception and Year 1
  • Wheler Class Year 1 and Year 2
  • Lotherton Class Year 2 and Year 3
  • Gascoigne Class Year 4 and Year 5
  • Hastings Class Year 5 and Year 6

The school has a rich history.  Set up and endowed by Lady Elizabeth Hastings in the 1720s, the original school was housed in Ledsham, but the increasing numbers of pupils led to a new building being built in 1975 in Ledston. We continue to use this building today. In 2010, continuing success of the school led to the bespoke designing and building of an Early Years/Key Stage 1 learning environment: The Ark.

Our school receives strong support from the church, governors, parents/carers, partnership schools and the local community. All are regularly involved in life at our school. We are very proud of our school and endeavour through our website to showcase the holistic learning opportunities offered to our children.

In 2022 we revisited our aims and values, listening to the needs and ambitions of today’s children, staff, governors and parents.
